From time to time, we like to feature Hispanic adoptive families. We’d like you to meet Alexis and Eveling, a hopeful adoptive couple living in Texas. We encourage you to read about their life in their own words. Here is what they have to say:
Married for almost 9 years, we have been hoping to expand our family. We found out that pregnancy is not going to happen for us, and we have always been open to adoption. We’re excited to begin this new chapter in our lives. Alexis has an older son living in Alaska who is excited about becoming a big brother!
Meet Eveling (by Alexis)
With a compassionate heart and a lot of love to give to all, Eveling is not only a great step-parent to my son, she shows this love and compassion in everything she does! Her warm personality and caring nature draws people to her. She is able to stay home and raise our children.
Tending our garden, playing with our dog, visiting fun places, and having family time are some of her favorite things to do. Our family and friends come over for her home cooked meals and we all enjoy game nights together. With her nurturing and kind nature, Eveling will be the best mother!
Meet Alexis (by Eveling)
Alexis’ fun personality, caring nature and devotedness to our family and friends are some of my favorite things about him. People in need of help find him to be the first person they think of turning to. A hard worker, he provides for our family, which allows me to be able to stay at home so I can be there for our children.
After seeing how devoted Alexis is to his son, I am excited to raise a child with him. He goes out of his way to care for and teach Brian new things and includes him in everything we do.
Our son, Brian (13), lives in Alaska and with us during the summer and stays with us on his Christmas break. He’s really excited to become a big brother and teach his sibling how to play basketball, soccer, and video games. As a family we visit water parks and enjoy riding go-karts.
We have a very close family and although small, they are spread out over different states and countries. We see Alexis’ mom, who lives nearby, every week and get together with the rest of the family once or twice a year.
Alexis was stationed in the Army in Texas, and we decided to stay in the area after he completed his active duty We live in a 3 bedroom home with a bedroom for Brian and one ready to become a nursery.
We live in a quiet neighborhood that is walking distance to our schools and community park. We like to travel to the surrounding big cities so we can visit the zoo, aquariums, and amusement parks.
